I am doing this new tumblr blog for several reason. The two most important:
- Focus
- Get my body that way I want it to!
I am not that in the bad of shape to be honest. I’m probably at a decent healthy weight, yet I don’t feel comfortable with it.
Quick Bio:
***I should use a disclaimer of everything because I tend to get long winded in my posts. When I get on a roll, I am ON a roll. I apologize for the extra fluff***
- I had always been on the chubby end of weight. Of course, much of it was probably that whole general little chubby thing that most can grow out of. However, it followed me into high school.
- I had the first click in me the summer before my junior year of high school, 2004. I think the jump came after I ran my very first mile without running. When I realized what I had accomplished, I literally almost started crying. After that, I started a low-carb diet and working out more, though running still wasn’t very big for me yet. It was during that time when i felt my hip bones for the first time in my life.
- Between then (probably 2004) and 2008, I yo-yoed… horribly, or really well… depends on how you look at it I suppose.
- Then in 2008, again, something clicked in me, as it did in 2004. It started with the beginning of my teeth project. I’ll explain that later, but basically I wanted to teach myself how to eat less and not get cranky and moody. So, I ate less, probably less than was health, especially when matched with the amount of output/working out I was doing… EVERYDAY! But I think back to my body then and think.. WHAT HAPPENED? How could I have let myself look the way I do now…? I’m telling you, I had not an once of belly fat and it was an AMAZING feeling! But, again, the way I went about that weight loss was probably not the healthiest and very hard to maintain.
- After I stopped my unhealthy (not)eating and (over the top)working out, I continued to run and try to eat healthier… but still yo-yoed.
- In 2009, I ran my VERY first 5K! When I signed up I was just like, “What the hell… it’d be fun, it’s for a good cause and I’ll be running with some peeps from work.” I didn’t train for it, other than my normal daily run. The morning of, I walk up at 6:30, ate a banana, walked over to the starting line… and ran my first 5K, WITHOUT stopping, in about 34:20 mins, or something around there. I was so proud of myself! I couldn’t believe I could do that. My dad was the first one I talked to about it.
- Over the next year, into today, I battled with a tweaked ankle. Long story short, I rolled my ankle twice in one year, bruised said ankle all while working on my feet at a restaurant nearly everyday.
- However, despite that speed bump I kept running, I ran my 2nd 5K with my bestest (her first 5K, a Cinco De Mayo run for children… I think), still continued to run, ran my 3rd 5K this one being held at the Angels stadium for the 2010 All-Star Game wherein I got to run on the actual field! ^-^
- I have now also run my first mud run… MUST HAVE MORE!
- I have ran a 10k as well, as I was running and didn’t see any mile markers, when I finally did I though, “Oh cool, I’m probably on mile 4 now”… nope, mile 2, WAH WAH! But with the support of mah bestie, we made it through
- New Goal (11/11)- do pull ups!
This blog is going to be my experiment to basically figure out how to maintain my weight and BE toned. I will also be posting about plenty of healthy foods and recipes.
